After years of absence, Hannibal Pennac attempts to reconcile with his estranged daughter Annabelle, who currently holds the same rank, and his grandchildren. Annabelle, however, remains deeply resentful of his past failures as a father. Due to severe understaffing in Annabelle’s department, Hannibal is recalled as a reservist. The two are forced into an uneasy professional partnership to solve complex local crimes. While navigating their strained relationship, Annabelle also struggles to keep her dyslexia a secret from her colleagues to protect her career.
