Synopsis

Six young people begin the school year at Le Ruche, an extraordinary boarding school for teens with eating disorders, run by a team of educators, nutritionists and psychologists. While their backgrounds and weight problems may be varied, the teens all share a very complicated relationship to food and body image. The compassionate, highly perceptive series is a deep dive into the shame, complex emotional and dysfunctional-family issues, social media pressures, and trauma underpinning the characters’ weight problems — be they obesity, anorexia or bulimia. And that goes for the school’s students and faculty, alike.
