Creators’/directors’ bios
A graduate of the École supérieure des arts décoratifs de Strasbourg, comic-strip artists Dimitri Planchon went on to write the graphic novel Jésus et les copains (2005) and the three-volume Blaise series (2009-2012). He subsequently created, animated and co-directed the TV series adaptation of Blaise (2016). He’s also an illustrator for several newspapers, and his art work has been exhibited in Lausanne, Aix-en-Provence and Paris.
Actor/director Jean-Paul Guigue has both directed and voiced characters in the series Blaise (2016), one episode of 50 Shades of Greek (2018), and the animated feature Silex and the City, the film (2024). He also co-directed the series Best Bugs Forever (2019).
Blaise premiered in the ACID parallel section of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, and won the Best Animated Feature award at this year’s Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal.
