Félicie works in a hair salon in Belleville, Paris. She either sleeps in the western suburbs, at her friend Loïc’s place, or in the southern suburbs, at her mother’s, where her daughter Elise lives. Elise is four years old. Due to a silly slip of the tongue, Félicie has lost all trace of Elise’s father Charles, encountered one summer in Brittany. Maxence, a hairdresser colleague, is very much in love with her. He’s going to move to Nevers and suggests he accompany her. She accepts, as she finds Loïc too “intellectual” for her taste. In fact, she loves neither one nor the other, for she is still haunted by the memory of Charles.
