Adapted from Juliette Boudre’s memoir of the same name, Mom, Don’t Let Me Fall Asleep recounts Juliette’s harrowing true story of a mother who unexpectedly discovers that her 17-year-old son is hooked on some of the very prescription drugs that fill their own medicine cabinet — anti-anxiety meds, tranquilizers, opioids — and the lethal recreational cocktails teenagers often make of them.  Horrified by this news, Juliette and her family launch into a desperate attempt to save her son from those ultra-powerful addictions, which are all too commonplace today… only to confront a plethora of societal, behavioral and medical challenges that lie ahead.

Actor-turned-director Sylvie Testud is a highly prolific, much-lauded actor in France, with well over one hundred screen credits to her name.  She has been honored with two César Awards — as Most Promising Actress for Jean-Pierre Denis’ Murderous Maids (2000), and as Best Actress for Alain Corneau’s Fear and Trembling (2003).  She also garnered a Globe de Cristal Award as Best Actress for Diane Kurys’s Sagan (2008), and a European Film Award as Best Actress for Jessica Hausner’s Lourdes (2009).  Other notable credits include Chantal Akerman’s The Captive (2000), Olivier Dahan’s La Vie en Rose (COLCOA 2007), and Stanley Tucci’s Final Portrait (2017).  Testud has published five autobiographical novels, of which Gamines was adapted to the screen by
