Marion (Julie Delpy) has now settled in New York, where she lives with Mingus, a radio journalist, and their two children from earlier relationships, and a cat. The couple is deeply in love! Marion is still a photographer and is preparing her exhibition. Her father, sister and the sister’s boyfriend (who is in fact Marion’s ex, who wasn’t expected at all) arrive in New York for the opening. Culture shock, but most of all the three guests’ unbridled personalities provoke real fireworks between Mingus, a real New Yorker, Marion, a tad crazy round the edges, her father who doesn’t speak a word of English, her sister always in sync her Freudian problems, and her ex-boyfriend… No comment! You can guess the rest… or maybe not.
