Catherine Blondin is a prim and proper wife, mother and director of an inclusive choral group. Inadvertently walking in on one of her handicapped singers as she’s having an orgasm unexpectedly awakens something in her. Then she discovers that her jovial quadriplegic brother has regularly been enjoying carnal favors in their home… and her journey to personal fulfillment and advocating for sexual assistance for the disabled begins. “Cathy’s” personal awakening unfolds with great delicacy and the show’s own brand of cheeky good humor, in this fairly atypical family comedy that dares to challenge notions of desire, intimacy and pleasure for people with disabilities… and the rest of the population, as well.
Co-writer/co-director Jonathan Hazan joined Les Films du Cygne as a producer in 2009, where he has produced more than thirty short films. He has written and directed two shorts, Exit Route (2011) and L’Occupant (2016). After a career in journalism and publishing, co-writer/co-director Matthieu Bernard joined Gaïa, a weekly documentary program on France 5. After eight years in documentaries, he wrote the play La Folle aventure, co-wrote the novel Les Gardiens de l’Obscur (2011), and has created and written several series for OCS, France Télévisions International and ZDF. Extra. premiered at this year’s Series Mania festival.
