WRITER/DIRECTOR RICHARD LINKLATER
RECIPIENT OF THE TAFFF ACHIEVEMENT AWARD 2025.
During the official Premiere of his new film NOUVELLE VAGUE at the American French Film festival, Academy Award nominated writer/director Richard Linklater accepted on stage, the FACF Award from FACF board member and WGA member Howard Rodman. The FACF Award was created by the Franco-American Cultural Fund in 2024 to honor a filmmaker or an actor whose film is the result of an artistic collaboration between France and the United States.
Richard Linklater has directed twenty-six feature length films, garnering much acclaim, as well as five Academy Award nominations, two Golden Globe Awards and two BAFTA Awards, including BAFTA’ Best Film Award for Boyhood. His credits include Slacker, Dazed and Confused, and Before Sunset to recent projects Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age, Childhood and Hit Man. His latest film, Nouvelle Vague, premiered this year in competition at the Cannes Film Festival, and has already cemented its status as one of France’s leading Academy Award contenders. The film was co-presented by Netflix as the official Los Angeles Premiere and a centerpiece screening at the American French Film Festival.
