When six-year-old social media celebrity Kimmy Diore is abducted in broad daylight, the police launch an intense investigation into the mysterious kidnapping. But given the child’s manipulative, at times less-than-forthright, modern-day “stage mother,” and her millions of rabid fans, potential suspects are plentiful. Loosely adapted from a best-selling novel by Delphine de Vigan, The Disappearance of Kimmy Diore peers into the dark side of the cult of celebrity, the obsession with appearances, a lust for mass adulation, and the inherent exploitation of children for financial gain.

Co-creator Judith Havas has written numerous series, including seven episodes of Cut (2013); 10 episodes of Fais pas ci, fais pas ça (2012-2017), six episodes of Standing Up (2022), and three episodes of Call My Agent! (2018-2020), a show on which Victor Rodenbach was head writer in 2020, with writing credits on all six of those episodes. Rodenbach’s numerous writing credits also include the series Platane (2013), President Alphonse (2017), Double vie (2019), 30 episodes of Grown Ups (2015-2019), Stalk (2020), Christmas Flow (2021) and Désordres (2022), as well as the feature films Chacun pour tous (2018); The Bare Necessity (2019), Man Up! (2019), and Gold Brick (2023). Artistic Director Sébastien Marnier has written and directed three features — Faultless (2016), School’s Out (2018), and The Origin of Evil (2022), which premiered in Venice.
